Research in Dr. Fanxin Long’s lab focuses on understanding the mechanisms that underlie normal skeletal development and the pathophysiology of bone diseases. Current research in the lab includes studies of skeletal stem cells and progenitors, metabolic regulation of skeletal cells, and the integration of bone and whole-body metabolism. 

The ideal candidate for the research technician position in the Long lab is well-organized, detail-oriented, curious, and motivated, with a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology or a related field and previous experience working in a lab setting. A proven ability to work in a team and a desire to learn new techniques are critical. Must be willing to work with mouse colonies. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to several projects and resulting co-authorship on papers.
