Research Technologist

The Research Technologist position is available to work in an Otolaryngology department laboratory at Johns Hopkins University.  Dr. Andrew Lane’s laboratory at JHU is looking to hire a full-time research technologist to start in early 2021. Our lab seeks to understand the cellular, molecular, and immunological mechanisms underlying epithelial innate immunity and upper airway inflammation, as well as olfactory loss, with specific areas of focus on chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps and on COVID-19. Several ongoing projects investigate epithelium-immune system crosstalk in human tissue and mouse models, utilizing differentiated cell cultures and novel sinonasal organoid models, including studies of epithelial immune defense against viral infection and smell loss associated with sinusitis and COVID-19. The research technologist will primarily be responsible for processing patient tissue samples and maintaining cell culture, but are encouraged to assist with ongoing projects. Other duties include performing experiments, maintaining and analyzing data, and inventory management.
