Job Summary The Nock Laboratory, in the Department of Psychology, at Harvard University is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to coordinate and administer studies aimed at understanding and preventing suicidal behavior among adolescents and adults presenting to the emergency room or the psychiatric inpatient unit.

Position Description The RA's responsibilities include participation in all phases of the research process, including: conducting literature reviews; IRB preparation; recruiting and running clinical participants; and data collection, entry, and management. The RA will be responsible for recruitment and follow-up of research participants in several studies, as well as supervision of undergraduate and volunteer RAs.

Basic Qualifications One year experience in psychology or related field required.

Additional Qualifications and Skills A Bachelor's degree in psychology (or related field) and previous clinical psychological research experience (especially with clinical subjects) is strongly preferred. The RA must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, but also function well as part of a team. Writing, computer skills (e.g., proficiency with programming and smartphone applications), and supervisory experience are highly desirable. Prior experience working with clinically severe/suicidal patients strongly preferred.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.
