About the Position:
The Department of Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant to support translational research in Dr. Ruben Luo’s lab, located at the Stanford Clinical Laboratories in Palo Alto, CA. This position—available a minimum 30 hours/week for approximately a one-year term—will contribute to projects focused on developing innovative diagnostic technologies and discovering new clinical biomarkers to advance patient care.
Job Duties:
- Contribute to scientific research related to the development and validation of novel clinical tests.
- Assist with data analysis and medical chart reviews to support biomarker discovery and study accuracy.
- Coordinate with clinical laboratory staff to facilitate timely and accurate specimen collection.
- Help drive innovation in diagnostic tools within a collaborative academic and clinical setting.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or medical sciences.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and scientific graphing tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to work on research projects and propose new ideas.
Working Conditions:
- Term of appointment: approximately a 1-year term
- Location: 3375 Hillview Ave, Palo Alto, CA
- Minimum 30 hours/week, with full-time option available
- The expected pay range for this position is $28.42 - $94.70 per hour, based on education and relevant experience.
