Research Assistant

Behavioral Science Division, National Center for PTSD, Boston, MA

Overview

We anticipate at least one research assistant position, start date(s) flexible. Research assistants work closely with clinical psychologists on a variety of research activities in the area of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Intimate Partner Violence. Responsibilities for these positions include: collecting data from research subjects and testing clinical patients, entering data and managing databases, performing statistical analyses, conducting library research, and assisting in the preparation of grants, manuscripts, regulatory documents, and professional presentations. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals with a bachelor’s degree who want to strengthen their research skills before applying to a graduate or professional program. Applicants should possess a keen interest in a career involving research.

Requirements

Requirements for a position are a bachelor’s degree in a health science, allied scientific or social science field with several college level courses in psychology and research methods. Other important qualifications include strong computer skills, a background in research methodology and statistics, and the maturity and interpersonal sensitivity necessary for working in a clinical setting. Applicants must commit to a minimum term of two years with the Behavioral Science Division, National Center for PTSD for this in-person position in Boston, MA.
