Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION :
The Biology and Biomedical Sciences Department at Salve Regina University seeks a post-baccalaureate researcher to work in the laboratory of Dr. Anne Reid studying the role of flagellin methylation on Salmonella enterica-plant and host interactions. The position is full-time for 3 months, with possibility of renewal for an additional 12 months. The position start date is immediate. A flexible schedule is important as occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct original, independent research under the supervision of Dr. Reid
- Participate in the training of undergraduate students
- Keep a detailed and up-to-date record of all experiments performed
- Contribute to the generation of manuscripts for publication
- Perform general lab maintenance duties (inventory, orders, etc.)
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Biology, Microbiology or related field at the time of hire, or BA in another discipline with a minor in Biology
- Experience with culture and manipulation of bacteria and molecular biology techniques is preferred but not required
