We're a small office that specializes in urologic health care. We provide care for all types of urologic conditions such as UTI, enlarged prostate, kidney stone, blood in the urine, prostate cancer, etc. We strive to provide high-quality and prompt care for all of our patients. Our office offers very good opportunities for pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing, or other healthcare-related applicants to gain clinical experience. Duties
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing medical care to patients
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, insurance pre-certification, scheduling surgery
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Assist with minor and non-invasive procedures
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis, cytology, etc.
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
Qualifications
Requirement:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- 1-year commitment minimum.
- Punctual
- Excellent typing and fluency in basic computer skills/shortcuts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective patient service and care
- The applicant is working toward a health-care-related field
Preferred but not required for consideration:
- Certification or registration as a medical assistant is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in medical administrative support tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Familiarity with coding systems and insurance billing processes
- Experience with electronic health record systems is preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist with patient care
- Fluency in another language such as Spanish, Vietnamese, or Mandarin
