Description of the practice:

• Impact Medical is a single specialty Allergy, Asthma & Immunology practice with multiple offices in New Jersey and New York. 
• Staff includes Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Medical Assistants, Office Manager, Regional Coordinator, Billing team, and Receptionists. 
• Physicians are board certified Allergists.
• There is a wide range of disease states that fall under our specialty. Some examples include Allergic Rhinoconjunctivitis, Asthma, Atopic Dermatitis, Urticaria, Angioedema, Sinusitis, Food allergies, Drug allergies, Bee Sting allergies, and Primary Immunodeficiencies. 

Position

• We are looking for a self-motivated, hard-working pre-med student who is taking one or two gap years and looking to gain clinical experience as a medical assistant. No prior clinical experience or certification is necessary.
• Full time position starting end of June 2025.
• Will work closely with the physicians.  Will be assigned to work with one or two physicians.
• Will likely need to work in multiple locations.  Will be expected to be able to work in all three of the northern New Jersey offices – Riverdale, Morristown and Paramus. 
• Impact Medical has instituted a program to employ pre-professional students as medical assistants for the past 5 years.  This position includes opportunities for physician mentorship and exposure to clinical research studies. Our students have gone on to medical school, Physician Assistant programs, and Psychology Masters programs. We offer flexibility for school interviews.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intake
• Assist nurses
• Perform Pulmonary Function Testing
• Triage Phone calls
• Assist doctors with medical notes
• Format consultation reports and send to primary care and/or referring providers.
