Dr. Teena Shetty, Founder & Director of the Concussion Program at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, is looking for a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to work in the Neurology Department at HSS.

You would be involved in a number of concussion-related research projects and coordinating patient care in the concussion clinic. You would be heavily involved in all aspects of the research lifecycle, including writing patient histories for potential enrollment and clinical trial studies in development. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain research experience, work directly with patients, and become exposed to daily life at a highly regarded teaching hospital. This role will include administrative leadership of the concussion program coordination and is a highly patient-facing position. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary concussion team and gain experience in an important area of scientific advancement. You may also be involved in the publication of journal articles. 

We are looking for a highly competent, organized, meticulous, hard-working, and personable candidate to fill this position. We also prefer that applicants have strong writing skills, can maintain a high level of professionalism, and are comfortable working with patients and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who plan to apply to medical school, but we are also open to other qualified individuals interested in healthcare and/or clinical research.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Chart review and project development
  • Writing and updating IRB protocols
  • Assisting in the preparation of research presentations
  • Coordinate referral appointments for patients with multidisciplinary concussion team
  • Patient scheduling and follow-up
  • Act as a liaison between patients, patient families, and healthcare professionals and facilitate treatment plans for patients
  • Consenting patients who are interested in participating in research
  • Patient screening and recruitment into clinical trials
  • Administering neurocognitive assessments to concussion patients
