The Yale Neuromuscular division is recruiting research associates to join our groups for a one-year position (with potential extension of another year) starting fall 2024. Our investigators are interested in all aspects of the management of patients with neuromuscular disorders.
We are looking for a post bachelor research associate to work in the laboratory on a project examining the B cell dysfunction in autoimmune neuromuscular diseases. This is a project combining molecular biology techniques, including monoclonal antibody isolation, gene expression analysis at the single cell level, and state-of- the-art computational biology methods. This is a one-year position with potential extension to second year. The research associate will also help sample collection and manage the bio repository.
Research associates will also gain extensive clinical experience by interacting with ambulatory patients with neuromuscular diseases and working collaboratively with the medical team and the physicians. You are welcome and encouraged to attend department conferences, lectures, and rounds. Our program has a strong record of preparing our associates for medical school and beyond.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and able to multi-task, managing a broad variety of duties and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment. They should have a strong academic record, an interest in the neurosciences, and skills in databases and analyses. Competency in basic statistics and programming (e.g. R, Python, SPSS or SAS) would be an advantage, and there will be opportunities to gain further expertise on data management and analysis under direct mentorship. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis and strong candidates will be invited to interview.
