Summer Activities: In the summer after my first year, I volunteered in a Microbiology, Immunology & Infectious Diseases Lab where I helped conduct research. This past summer, I volunteered/interned at a health centre in Tanzania through a Princeton IIP.
Advice for 1st years: There are so many resources around campus designed to help you attain both your academic and athletic goals, just don't be afraid to ask for help. It is also so important to realize that you don't have to be a molecular or evolutionary biology major in order to go to medical school. I highly suggest that you consider other majors if you are passionate about them. It will make your studying and research much more enjoyable if you're enthusiastic about the topic. You can work with the HPA office to coordinate how you can go about fulfilling all of your requirements, for various different majors.
