Princeton Disability Awareness (PDA) was founded in 2007 by a group of students devoted to disability awareness, education, and inclusion. Since then, PDA has been hosting major events on Princeton’s campus to promote these goals while bringing together the Princeton student body and the larger community.
This semester, we are hosting a carnival where we invite parents and their disabled children to spend a day on campus full of fun activities. The success of the PDA carnival depends on Princeton students who volunteer part of their day to spend time with the guests. As a volunteer, you'll be paired one-on-one with a participant. The event will take place on November 6, 2022 from 1-4pm at Carl A. Fields Center at 58 Prospect Avenue but we are asking for your time between 12-5pm. Since the carnival is for a vulnerable population, we want to help you honor and understand as much as possible how to have the best experience for everyone, attendance at a brief training is required for volunteering. We will send out more information about the training times within the next two weeks! There will be one afternoon and one night training lasting less than an hour – you only need to attend one.
