Young Sheng '19 is hoping to jumpstart a Princeton chapter of a non-profit and shares this message:
Hi! Are you interested in ELIMINATING hospital medical debt for patients? We are looking for folks interested in joining a new student organization that will do creative community outreach and connect patients with DollarFor, a nonprofit that serves patients by filling out their charity care applications for free. They’ve already successfully eliminated $23 million of hospital bills in their short existence so far, and we’re looking to bring that good effort to Princeton!
There will be opportunities for us to be creative about how we’re getting the word out: tabling at local community events, training community clinic workers or hospital residents/attendings to refer patients, collaborating with community orgs and leaders, etc. The national org is offering $1000 to get a Princeton campus chapter jumpstarted.
Please fill out this Google form if you’d like to get more involved- this is an amazing way for pre-health students to demonstrate their values and passion for patient advocacy via direct action! Contact Young directly if you have questions or want to connect: [email protected].
