Physician Scientist Undergraduate Mentorship Program Through APSA

Sept. 29, 2016

The American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) is a trainee-led student organization for trainees in all phases of the physician-scientist training pathway. An important part of APSA’s mission is undergraduate mentorship, with the goal of fostering the success of undergraduate students interested in a career as a physician scientist. APSA is now beginning the third year of their undergraduate mentorship program. Through the program, undergraduate students interested in pursing a career as a physician scientist are paired with professional student mentors (MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent). The year-long program provides one-on-one mentorship to undergraduate students, giving these students a point of contact for information and advice about physician scientist training. While APSA undergraduate membership is required for participation, this year APSA is offering free undergraduate membership to any student who self-reports financial hardship.
