Princeton MedLife is an organization that strives to alleviate global poverty by means of medical, educational and developmental support. This club allows students to gain service experience and also shadow medical professionals in a program called Service Learning Trips (SLT). SLTs are a week-long educational journey to Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica or Tanzania where volunteers work hand in hand with the local community on development projects and mobile medical clinics. Throughout the experience, volunteers are able to shadow professionals at the Mobile Clinics, and participate in educational talks with experts.
As the spring semester nears, we wanted to inform you all of the status of this year's SLTs. Unfortunately, we were unable to conduct our SLT during the 2023-2024 academic year due to issues with funding. For the rest of this school year, we intend to focus our efforts in preparing for SLTs in the 2024-2025 academic year.
However, for those who were interested in participating in an SLT this academic year, we encourage you to participate in the SLTs offered directly by our parent organization or those conducted by other MedLife chapters. The full list of trips is available on the MedLife website; the trip that will be happening during spring break (March 9th-17th) is the one to Lima, Peru. If you are participating in an SLT independently, you will be responsible for the full cost of the program ($850 + airfare). Please indicate on this google form if you are interested in this opportunity by January 20th and reach out to [email protected] you have any questions.
Enjoy the rest of winter break!
