HPA is Hiring: HPA Student & Alumni Engagement Intern

The Office of Health Professions Advising (HPA) seeks a Student and Alumni Relations Intern. The intern will be expected to work four to five hours per week, with flexibility based on academic requirements. Some of the work can be done remotely, but attendance at evening events will be required.
Duties:
Working with the Health Professions adviser, plan and execute two event series:
The Doctor is In: Alum physicians and other health professionals discuss their careers with student attendees in an informal setting.
Aspiring Docs: a conversation group for students who are the first in their family to pursue a health profession.
Help coordinate and attend conversation for Doctor is In speaker events (4-5 per semester) and some Aspiring Docs conversation group meetings (5-6 per semester). These events will be in the evenings, some in-person and some by zoom.
Outreach to promote events to prehealth students via listservs, social media, and other means.
Provide feedback/ help brainstorm the best ways to promote programs to pre-health students.
During weeks with few other responsibilities, assist the HPA team with other projects (example: reviewing and updating our spreadsheet for medical school admissions requirements)
Meet weekly with the Health Professions Adviser to plan and execute these two event series.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, professional, and comfortable reaching out to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, a specific interest in connecting with alumni and prehealth students, and experience facilitating discussions and with data entry
Interest in health professions is a plus, but not required.
Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
