HPA seeks a Content Creation Intern!
The subscription-based AAMC Medical School Admissions Requirements (MSAR) is a must-have for medical school applicants. At Health Professions Advising (HPA), we have Princeton-specific data and resources that complement the MSAR. Thanks to the NJ Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science (NJ ACTS), we have funding to hire a student to help us move this data from disparate spreadsheets and websites into a more user-friendly format for Princeton students and alums.
This resource will include short summaries of schools, information about prerequisites and other policies, admission data specific to Princeton applicants, links to schools’ information sessions, and other existing information. To support Princeton students’ interest in research training, the intern will also collect information about training in clinical and translational science that is offered at select schools. The resource will also include information about public health and population health programs that are available at the schools.
This is a time-limited project. The intern will be expected to spend five to ten hours per week from hiring through April 30 to develop this resource. The final product will be a mock-up of the content with a how-to guide for future creators who will update the resource. The resource could be developed as a website, a database, or an online document; the final format is flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Meet weekly with the HPA Director to discuss the project and progress.
- Collate existing data from multiple sources.
- Research individual medical schools to gather information about training and educational opportunities available in clinical and translational science as well as public health.
- Develop a user-friendly resource to present information that is easily updated and accessible to students and alumni.
Qualifications:
- Princeton undergraduate or graduate student
- Experience with website development
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Reliability and ability to work independently
- Familiarity with digital accessibility guidelines
- Familiarity with medical schools or clinical and translational science is preferred but not required
- Due to the source of federal funding for this project, the intern must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident of the U.S., or non-citizen national
Compensation:
- For an eight-week project, the anticipated pay is $740 to $1480, depending on number of hours worked. Half of the salary will be provided at the midway point of the project, and the other half will be provided upon completion at the end of April. For a shorter duration project or fewer hours, compensation will be finalized with the HPA Director.
To apply:
- Send a resume and brief letter of interest to Kate Fukawa-Connelly, Director of Health Professions Advising, at [email protected].
- Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
