Funding Opportunity American Society for Bioethics & Humanities Fall 2024 Conference | St. Louis, MO

July 12, 2024

Interested in bioethics and the opportunity to attend the nation's largest annual conference in Saint Louis this September?  To support the next generation of bioethicists, we are funding selected undergraduate students (from any major) to attend this year's American Society for Bioethics & Humanities (ASBH) conference in Saint Louis, MO from September 18-21, 2024.  We will provide the following for selected students: (i) conference registration, (ii) up to $500 in travel costs to Saint Louis, (iii) accommodation near the conference and (iv) some meals.  In addition, there will be cross-institutional mentorship of selected students, including a mentor both during and after the conference as well as a pre-conference Zoom workshop.  If you are an undergraduate and attending this conference would further your academic and professional goals, please find out more information about our program and application process here.

This program has been previously funded by the Emory Center for Ethics, Greenwall Foundation, Georgetown University's Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Harvard Medical School's Center for Bioethics, Saint Louis University's Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics and the University of Colorado Center for Bioethics and Humanities.

The application review committee values student diversity and is working to ensure bioethics is accessible to and supportive of students of diverse and historically-underrepresented backgrounds. To further these important efforts, we are particularly interested in providing support for undergraduates from such backgrounds.

Applications are due by Thursday, August 1, 2024. If you have any questions or wish to apply but cannot submit by the deadline, please email [email protected] and let us know if you are from a background that has been historically underrepresented in bioethics
