WHY BECOME AN ADVISING FELLOW?

  • You’ll receive guidance on how to assist your high school students through the process of selecting and applying to schools, as well as locating scholarships and financial aid opportunities. We’ll help you develop your ability to be a skilled and sensitive advisor to high school students across the country, from Hawaii to Maine.

  • You’ll be part of a passionate community that meets weekly on your campus to share experiences and support one another.

  • You’ll join an entrepreneurial nonprofit organization on the ground floor as one of the founding members of this fellowship.

Dear HPA,

I'm Brian Li, a co-HAF with Princeton's Matriculate fellowship. We work with high-achieving low-income high school students and provide them with insights and encouragement to help them enter colleges that meet their talents and needs. Our applications are open at matriculate.org/apply until October 17, and we invite all first-years, sophomores, and juniors to apply. Advising Fellows should expect to work approximately 3-5 hours per week starting in the winter. We offer very flexible schedules (almost all work is asynchronous/self-scheduled) and Advising Fellows' time is compensated.

We'd love for students in contact with HPA to join us, as in addition to community service experience, we also offer rewarding social activities and a welcoming community for Advising Fellows of all backgrounds and interests.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me (brianskli@princeton.edu) or my co-HAF Kateri Espinosa (katerie@princeton.edu).
