Event Description

The Genomic Psychiatry Cohort (GPC) is a multi-institutional collaboration based at Rutgers that is clinically directed by Dr. Michele Pato (Pl) and Dr. Carlos Pato in close collaboration with the Genetics Program of the Broad Institute's Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research (directed by Ben Neale). The GPC resource includes a NIMH-managed repository of genomic samples, genotypic and sequence data, and detailed clinical and demographic data for investigations of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, OCD, and COVID. To date the GPC has brought in close to 65,000 participants.  The GPC, under our current AA-GPC and LA-GPC studies is nearing 20,000 African Ancestry and 8,000 Latinx Ancestry participants.  This is a unique opportunity to study populations that trace ancestry to continents other than Europe.
