The Doctor Is In is the HPA alumni health professional speaker series. Alumni guests talk about their professional lives and offer advice to prehealth students.

About Dr. Wasterlain

Amy Wasterlain ’07 is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in minimally invasive hip and knee replacements. She performs 500 surgeries annually at both a community hospital and an ambulatory surgery center, and is a partner in a private practice in Connecticut. Additionally, she serves as a consultant to a major implant manufacturer.

Amy majored in Molecular Biology at Princeton. She then worked as a Business Analyst at McKinsey for two years before attending Stanford for medical school. Her training continued with an Orthopedic Surgery residency at NYU Langone and a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction (joint replacements) at Rothman in Philadelphia.

Amy is eager to share her experiences as a surgeon and discuss the advantages of working in private practice.
